Getting the picture

Scanning

Screen Cezanne FT-S5000 Colour Scanner, with maximum resolution of 5,300 dpi is used to scan

Transparent and reflective positive films

3d objects upto 1 inch (25 mm) thick.

The scanner table accommodates media sizes upto a maximum of 13.4 x 20.9 inches (340 x 530mm).

Line art can be scanned at 2,000 dpi resolution.

Layout and Page Assembly

Powerful Apple and IBM PC workstations are used for layout, image manipulation, and colour correction.

Customer supplied files are processed using DTP applications such as:

Plate Setter (CTP - Computer to Plate) :

CTP is a direct Imaging technology from computer to plate with the elimination of the film.

Screen PlateRite 8000 II CtP unit is a high end external drum recorder with superior output speeds.

It is capable of handling multi-plate sizes.

It has six resolution settings between 1,200 to 4000 dpi with high productivity up to 12 plates per hour including Register Punching.

It is controlled by HQ 510PC Harlequin Level 3 and 6 modules of impose 2000 for plate output.

Digital Proofer

For layout and content writing, an HP DesignJet Z2100 6-color proofer driven by EFI Colorproof XF software is used.

Colour Management System

Calibrating the computer monitors is through:

EFI Colorproof XF software is used for colour integration with the HP DesignJet Z2100 6-color proofer.

X-Rite’s 500 Series Spectro Densitometer is used for both pre-press and press to accurately measure density, dot area and dotgain in a single instrument.

CIP-3

CIP3 is called “International co-operation for Integration of pre-press, press and post press”.

CIP3 print production format helps to link printing and post printing processes closer to the pre-press stages.

The various data is generated in pre-press click Ink-key pre setting, folding, cutting etc, should complied to enable a uniform administration and further processing. In this way a repeated time consuming data acquisition in the subsequent processing steps should be avoided because this data had already available in the pre-press phase.
